Fundraisers feted by success - $6,400 added to Aged Care Facility’s coffers

On Saturday 3rd May 2008 the Annual Moyne Fete was held. We are happy to report that once again it was a wonderful success with monies raised equalling around $6400.

We still have a few outstanding payments yet to be calculated. This total can be contributed to the amazing generosity of business houses from Canowindra, Cowra and Orange who donated the greater part of what was sold on the day.

The Fete was officially opened by John Cobb from The National Party. We thank him for taking the time out of his busy schedule to do this important job for us.

Entertainment was provided by the Cowra Antique Car Club and by members of Stacey’s Singing School. Thank-you all for your participation.

The Fruit and vegetable stall was once again our biggest money maker. The cakes sold like hot cakes, the barbeque was a huge hit, Carol and the crew where run off their feet for the Devonshire Tea, plants were walking out the door fast, jams and relishes delighted taste buds and the auction was a bidding war at times.

To Moyne Staff members, Community Volunteers and Clubs who gave up their time on their days off, you are all a wonderful group of people and we could not have done it without you.

Special mention goes to Garry Meurs, George Schnieder and James Mulligan for the many hours of hard work they put in and for putting up with us bossing them around for the last few weeks.

All money raised will go towards resources for the residents. Once again thank-you to everyone who was involved in Moyne fete day, you are appreciated beyond words.

Regards,

Melissa Thurtell and Amber Meurs.
